It is tough to choose one favorite
Children's Book, but since I have to, it is:
The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
by Eric Carle.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
by Eric Carle.
The colors are so uplifting. The art work is gorgeous. The simplicity is soothing. Butterflies are magical for children. In addition, there are so many lessons to children in this simple book: the various food items, the counting, the science of the butterfly life cycle, healthy food vs unhealthy food.

I loved this book as a child! I still enjoy it. I agree with you about the colors being so uplifting. When I think about the journey of the caterpillar now, it reminds me of someone who never gives up. Great choice!
ReplyDeleteI love this book as well. I do not remember many books from my childhood for some reason, but I do enjoy reading this to my class. I agree there are so many lessons this book portrays. My students are drawn into the story with the colors and pictures.
ReplyDeleteAHHHHHH!!!! I love this book! I read this book so much as a child my mom had to throw my first one away and get my a nice new one. I loved the colors and how I could practice counting. I also loved how what people think as ugly (the caterpillar) can transform into something so beautiful! It pretty much the story of so many of my high school students. They seem so tarnished when they first step in my class, but by graduation or the end of the year they are like little butterflies ready to take on the world.
